Technique
Scales, arpeggios, and broken chords in every key, written out with fingering and checked at your piano with a MIDI keyboard or a microphone. Start slow and speed up one checked take at a time. Levels 1 and 2 are free, no account needed.
About technique practice
Where does the fingering come from?
We wrote the fingering table ourselves, following the conventions most piano teachers use, and checked each row against published scale books and teaching references. Where those references disagree, we chose the fingering a teacher is most likely to show first. If your teacher prefers another one, follow your teacher.
How does it check my playing?
A MIDI keyboard tells it exactly which keys you pressed. With a microphone, the sound is analyzed on your own device and never uploaded. Either way the result is a count of the notes played right, wrong, or missed, and how steady your timing was, drawn on the exercise itself. It is not a grade.
How does the speed-up work?
Start at a slower tempo. Each checked take with every note right moves the tempo up one step, until you reach the level’s target. A take with a slip leaves the tempo where it is, and it never goes down on its own.
Is anything saved?
No take is saved, because the exercise is written on your device and never stored. The time you spend counts toward your practice record, and the level you choose is remembered on your account.
Which levels are free?
Levels 1 and 2 are open to everyone, with or without an account. The higher levels are part of Pro.
